Arrive in Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar. Proceed to hotel get freshen up then drive west through out the city to Tsonjin Boldog, home to the Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex. Later, proceed to the Terelj National Park for lunch and then go for a sightseeing tour at Turtle Rock and Ariyabal Temple. Proceed back to Ulaanbaatar for an overnight stay at the hotel as mentioned in the day 4 itinerary.
Following the early breakfast, proceed on a road trip southwards to the Gobi Desert, and get to one of the most outstanding ger camps near Eagle Valley. Take a look at the beauty of Zuun Saikhan Mountain and the steep sided valley. Trekking, camel and horse back riding are some of the activities that tourists can engage in. Dinner and overnight at the ger camp.
Travel west to Khongoryn Dunes, which are the largest sand dunes in Asia. These are the largest dunes measuring 100 km in length and 20 km in width and the Khongurun River is nearby. See the peculiar views of the area and tender two-humped Bactrian camels riding. Dinner and overnight in a ger camp.
Proceed to the Flaming Cliffs of Bayan Zag which is made up of red sand stone and well known for dinosaur fossils. Spend the day wandering around and going to the Ongiin Monastery which is one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia. Dinner and overnight in Ger camp.
Head to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital established by Chinggis Khaan. Go to the symbolic ruins and the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, Erdene Zuu Monastery. Find out Turkish monuments and rock inscriptions located in the vicinity. Dinner and overnight in a ger camp.
Return to Ulaanbaatar and have the day free to go shopping or visit the city as desired. Overnight at a hotel.
Breakfast is served early in the morning and then you will be transferred to Ulaanbaatar airport for your onward flight.
